The Weight of Our Pride

We wear pride like a shield,

Blocking the arrows of harsh reality,

To face our fears, and strive to thrive,

To lift us up beyond the pits of cruelty.

But the weight of our pride, do we really need that?

If we let it go, what would we see?

As we fall to the ground, hell or humility?

Would it destroy us or set us free?

I see flickers of light, a bonfire of dreams,

A chance to start anew, an ego rebirth,

Embrace the fear, strength in vulnerability,

Let pride go down with reality.

For when we shed our pride,

We open our lives to love and empathy.

And in this space, we find our true worth,

As we dance to the rhythm of Mother Earth.
